Our Account Manager, Sam Thornton, has been shortlisted in the Rising Star of the Year category for 2023’s British Ex-Forces in Business Awards!
Sam was in the RAF from 2009, and after 12 years, he left the military in July 2021 to pursue a corporate career. He joined as Junior Account Manager in October 2021, carrying with him so many transferrable skills, especially with his project management experiences gained from his time in the RAF.
We knew he would thrive in this role, where he needs to manage many different layers of activities that move concurrently. It’s a very technical and high-pressure environment, with detailed critical path planning required, while simultaneously be able to build rapport with clients and grow their orders.
In a very short span of time, Sam managed to gain trust from his clients and grow his accounts.

What is the British Ex-Forces in Business Awards About?
The Ex-Forces in Business Awards is the world’s largest celebration of military veterans in second careers.
Taking place in London and Glasgow, the awards are dedicated to providing a much-needed platform for uncovering and showcasing the business achievements of ex-military, presenting them as role models to service leavers, and recognising the employers that support current and former members of the British Armed Forces.

The winners of this year’s British Ex-Forces in Business Awards will be announced and celebrated at a glittering awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House hotel’s prestigious Great Room on Park Lane. TV presenter and broadcaster Jacqui Oatley MBE returns as the host to welcome over 1,100 business and military leaders to the landmark event.
