Our Account Manager, Sam Thornton, has been shortlisted in the Rising Star of the Year category for 2023’s British Ex-Forces in Business Awards!
Sam was in the RAF from 2009, and after 12 years, he left the military in July 2021 to pursue a corporate career. He joined as Junior Account Manager in October 2021, carrying with him so many transferrable skills, especially with his project management experiences gained from his time in the RAF.
We knew he would thrive in this role, where he needs to manage many different layers of activities that move concurrently. It’s a very technical and high-pressure environment, with detailed critical path planning required, while simultaneously be able to build rapport with clients and grow their orders.
In a very short span of time, Sam managed to gain trust from his clients and grow his accounts.
These are some testimonials from his clients:
“Best Account Manager we’ve had to date”
“Understands processes and our product line up”
“Proactive in producing suggestions and solutions”
Following a consistent and successful approach to his day-to-day duties, Sam has been placed on a development plan which will see him progress further to Senior Account Manager.
What is the British Ex-Forces in Business Awards About?
The Ex-Forces in Business Awards is the world’s largest celebration of military veterans in second careers.

The prestigious events promote the huge value that military-gained skills and values add to the UK economy in their second careers
The winners of this year’s British Ex-Forces in Business Awards will be announced and celebrated at a glittering awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House hotel’s prestigious Great Room on Park Lane.
